Buddy Poppies
Before Memorial Day in 1922, the VFW conducted their first poppy distribution,
becoming the first veterans' organization to organize a nationwide distribution. The poppy soon was adopted
as the official memorial flower of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, as it remains today.
Veteran Outreach
Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period,
there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD,
we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, better known as the VFW, was originally founded in 1899 as the American Veterans of Foreign Service
and is a voice for returning and currently deployed service members and their families. The 2.4 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliaries are located
in 8,500 VFW posts around the world. We welcome everyone who meets VFW eligibility requirements, regardless of age, race, religion, or gender.
Post 6873 is dedicated to supporting those who sacrifice so much for this country's veterans, service members in the US Armed Forces, and their families.
